1 Day Leather Bag Workshop

Service Description

**Our new Workshop is in a village next to Silverstone** By Appointment Only: Corner Barn, Home Farm Business Park, Church Way, Whittlebury, Northamptonshire, NN12 8XS **Weekday Workshops also possible, please email** Make your very own saddle stitched Leather Crossbody/Messenger/Tote or Bucket bag from a selection of premium grade vegetable or chrome tanned pull-up leathers. You'll be shown what all these leathers are along with all the other wonderful and numerous types of Leathers available, a great introduction to help your Leather type and best application understanding. With expert guidance throughout your workshop you'll be cutting your leather, marking out & chisel punching out all your stitching holes, setting any hardware, waxing threads, making your straps, burnishing edges and finally bringing it all together by hand stitching using a Saddle Stitch, a thread with a needle at each end. On your Workshop we don’t operate with pre-cut leather templates, preferring you get fully involved in the making process from start to finish, but there are maximum sizes for the style of each bag and this is only to ensure you will have enough time to finish your bag by the end of the day. Approximate dimensions are up to 40cms wide for the Totes and 34cms wide for the Crossbody/Messenger bags (to fit an A4 journal) you can of course make your bag smaller if you prefer, and lots do. Please do have a look at the website Makers Gallery, instagram and Facebook page to see the bags that our makers have made. You'll be given a demo of the making processes, and encouraged to practice on leather off-cuts at each key stage. You’ll also receive an info pack giving details on where you can buy your own leathers, tools and hardware if you wanted to take your new skills forward at your own pace. Note that this is a very busy and full day of making at each stage of creating your very own unique bag, it runs with a minimum of one person booking, to a maximum of three people attending. Teas/coffees biscuits are provided throughout the day. You are welcome to bring along a packed lunch and eat as you're making! I look forward to meeting and seeing your finished Bag. Cancellation Policy

Please read my Micro Craft Business Refund Policy. A full Refund if requested will only be issued anytime up to 14 days prior to your booked Workshop or Course date. This will effectively allow me just 13 days in which to re advertise and try and fill your cancelled and refunded space. If you realise for any reason you cannot attend your Workshop or Course date between the 13 days prior to your booked date, then I will happily work with you to arrange a mutually agreeable date to reschedule your Leather Workshop or Course. Full refunds are only issued prior to 14 days before your Workshop/Course date. Behind the scenes there is a lot of pre preparation, leather and hardware purchasing to enable running my Workshops & Courses for you, which is why I need the 14 days notice.
